CalcWyse Is Live: 5 Free Financial Calculators Built for Real Decisions
We built CalcWyse because most free financial calculators are either broken, require a signup, or give you textbook numbers instead of real ones. Here's what we launched with.
Here’s what triggered this project: trying to figure out if a $480,000 house was actually affordable on a $110,000 salary, with $65,000 saved for a down payment, in a state with 1.2% property taxes. Every “free” mortgage calculator online either wanted an email address, crashed on mobile, or gave a payment number that turned out to be principal and interest only — not including taxes and insurance. The real number was $800/month higher.
CalcWyse exists to fix that. All five calculators launched today are free, work on every device, and show you the real number — not the optimistic one.
The Five Calculators
Mortgage Calculator — Monthly payment including principal, interest, property taxes, and homeowners insurance (PITI). Full 30-year amortization table. PMI calculation when you put less than 20% down. 2026 conforming loan limit reference ($832,750 for most US counties). Works for conventional, FHA, and jumbo loans.
Compound Interest Calculator — Models exactly what $500/month into a Roth IRA looks like after 30 years at different return rates. Live Chart.js growth chart, year-by-year breakdown, Rule of 72. References 2026 Roth IRA contribution limit ($7,500/year) and current HYSA rates (4.5%–5%).
Loan Calculator — One calculator, four loan types: personal, auto, student, and SBA business. Switch between them with current 2026 rate presets. Donut chart showing principal vs total interest at a glance. Full monthly amortization table with a “show all” toggle.
ROI Calculator — Total return, annualized CAGR, and net profit for any investment. Four modes: basic ROI, annualized return, stock/ETF (with dividends), and rental property (with income and fees). Benchmarks your result against the S&P 500, Nasdaq, US bonds, and current savings rates so you know how you actually did.
Savings Goal Calculator — Solve for time (how long to reach $X) or monthly amount (how much to save to hit a date). Presets for emergency fund, house down payment, car, vacation, and 529 college fund. Uses current HYSA rates for realistic timelines. Milestone markers at 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% of goal.
What We Got Right (We Hope)
PITI, not just P&I. Most mortgage calculators show principal and interest. That’s how people get blindsided by their first escrow statement. CalcWyse shows the full monthly number.
2026 numbers. Contribution limits, conforming loan limits, current rate ranges — updated for this year, not carrying forward stale data.
No drama around getting the answer. No email popup, no “enter your zip code to see rates,” no “talk to a licensed advisor” modal blocking the result. You type numbers, you see numbers.
The math is documented. Every calculator page includes the formula it uses. If our mortgage calculator says $2,847/month and your lender says $2,910, you can figure out why.
What’s Coming Next
Currently building: retirement / 401(k) calculator, debt payoff / avalanche-vs-snowball calculator, take-home pay by state, net worth tracker, and an inflation calculator. If there’s a calculation you want that’s not here, let us know — most of the roadmap comes from reader requests.
